Written Media Evaluation

Above is my written evaluation; I separated this from my presentations on the four questions as I was able to give more information. Overall, this evaluation allowed me to summarise my ideas on my media coursework and to, hence, evaluate how and why I did each part of the whole media product.

4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

This is the answer to the fourth question of my evaluation; I used Prezi once again to present the work more attractively so that it would be more appealing to the audience. Also, this technology enabled me to be creative and present my ideas along with imagery to enhance the explanation.

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Here I used PowToon to present my answer for question 3. I found using this media product extremely entertaining and beneficial as it allowed me to be creative with the tools at hand as well as to gain new primary media skills. Most importantly, I was able to answer this question efficiently whilst providing features of PowToon to convey my ideas as productively as possible.

2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

This is the presentation to answer the second question of my evaluation; I used Emaze as it allowed me to be imaginative and put my work into a new world of creativity and efficiency. I found this helped me to answer the question and provide as much necessary and quality information as possible.

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

This is the answer to the first part of my evaluation. I chose to use Prezi as I was aware I would need imagery to explain my ideas further and this media product provided the necessary tools to do so. I explained here the relationship between my own media product compared to existing products using Andrew Goodwin's Codes & Conventions to outline and structure my ideas.

Digipak

This is my final digipak design. The theme revolves around the city the artist is from so that he is shown to represent his hometown of London. The other predominant theme is of the artist placed before a black background and looking away from the camera. I chose these colours and themes to highlight the mood of the album and the artists perceived persona through the songs on the album.

Album Advert

Above is my album advert, in which the purpose is to promote the upcoming album of the artist. I used the usual conventions of existing successful rap album adverts which are labelled above to try and achieve a good and successful product here. The initial idea and plan of my album advert (Album Advert Draft) I found unable to interpret as the main props associated in the sketch was unobtainable in the period of time we had to complete this work; therefore after planning this became my new album advert idea, which is subsequently executed.
